Hello!

I have a Maggie Sorretto (would need to look at certificate to see if I’ve spelt that right) wedding dress without a daughter to have to hold onto it for :/
We are currently in the process of minimising what we can in our life and this takes up a sizeable amount of space in our small home.

With it’s modern but classic style it just seem’s like such a waste to be sitting there and at this time of year any little extra cash that I could get for it would come in handy!! Have any of the other MoMs on here had luck with or can recommend ways to quickly sell a wedding dress? I was taking my no longer worn clothing to a trade in store (Swap Central‏) but they closed temporarily and then just disappeared, and I have a large amount of clothing I deposited there and never got to pick up clothing in return for! So I don’t want to get burned like that again with this item of clothing.

Thanks in advance for any help on this :D

  • Still white. Is a wedding dress second hand boutique. Has some great stuff on it

  • I would try ebay as well, we always sell a lot on ebay.

  • Try selling it online, eBay maybe. I don’t understand why women spend so much time and money on a dress they wear for a few hours. Why not buy a dress that’s not so fooffy and can be worn again down the track

  • I sold mine on ebay was gone within a week of the wedding almost got what I paid for it….. I bought it new on ebay too

  • I still have mine. My daughter might want to wear it some day.

  • I had exactly the same experience with an expensive dress years ago – the owner of the store (who was supposed to give me a cut of the sold product) just up and left with my dress and other item. Gumtree and your local FB buy, swap and sell pages are a good idea.

  • I sold mine through work – and got two thirds of what I paid for it three years later.

  • I would still hold onto it, for sentimental value alone. Even with no daughters, you will most likely have daughters in law, grand daughters that may like it

  • If you wanted to donate it, angel gowns do the most amazing work, they use wedding gowns, formal gowns etc to make tiny gowns for children taken way to early. If you did however want to sell it maybe ebay? Gumtree? Garage sale site? A wedding site in your area.

  • Also; possibly try wedding fairs; as people want retro.

  • Maybe try wedding shops; they may sell on consignment or be able to advise you of where you can sell it. Good Luck!

  • gumtree or ebay. i have heard of maggie sorrento

  • Id advertise it on e-bay or gumtree but be specific about the price you want for it and any other details that are important like shipping or pick up.

  • gumtree is good to sell wedding dresses on.

  • I’m looking at selling my deb dress (has been sitting around for quite a while!!) and was going to ask a similar questions. Thanks for the answers :)
