  • I have a an Electrolux front loader and I love it!

  • I wouldn’t go for a front loader,I would buy a Hoover,top loader.

  • Absolutely love my Fisher Paykel washer. I am only interested in a top loader as I add items mid cycle quite often. Mine has quite a few water levels that I find that very useful. Can’t speak highly enough of this washer.

  • i have always had simpsons top loaders and never had any problems I wouldn’t look at another brand

  • I forgot to comment with the brand of my front loader washing machine in my other comment. It is a Bosch front loader and it is super quick and quiet. It is a loved appliance in our household.

  • Fisher and parklye top loader energy efficient, had it for 10 years and no problems

  • I love my front loader as it is cost efficient and takes less time and it just keeps on going!

  • Up until 2 years ago I owned a serviced Laundromat, so I have bought dozens of machines, then when we sold it, I had work out what I wanted for home as I was used to commercial large machines, previously I had a top loader but gave it away as I did all my washing at work as we had 5 teenagers and it was heaps easy, everything just came home washed and ironed, I settled on a 10kg Samsung front loader, it does a large load in under an hour, washes well, good water consumption, and has heaps of different cycles, I paid extra and got the extended warranty as after dealing with heaps of machines for over 10years I know that washing machines breakdown and if the computer boards go then the cost to fix is generally prohibitive, but I have used it excessively for 2 years and not had a problem, it is great and from time to time Samsung have cash back bonus’s just check their website, and shop around, I found the good guys were the cheapest when I bought mine and had the best extended warranty. top loaders use more water and are a lot harder on clothes as they beat them clean where a front loader is a lot more gentle, so clothes will last longer if washed in a front loader. good luck

  • I have been using front loader machines for the past 12 years and they are great. They wash very well, they use less water and even my lingerie, on delicate cycle, comes out beautifully. I have bought LG both times and have had no problems with them. The only draw back you might find is the cycles take longer than a top loader, however you get used to that side of the machine, now I start it up, go shopping and then hang out the load, add another load, do some other cleaning/reading/kid activities and then hang out the next one. I would definitely recommend a front loader and the LG has been great. My s-i-l uses ASKO, also great, but lots more expensive. Hope this helps.

  • well i had a front loader for 6 weeks and broke- completely unfixable. got a new one, different model and size and within a year something burnt out on it but it was covered by warranty and repaired. never had a top loader die on me. front loaders are water savers though which is great if you are on tanks

  • I just bought a bosch front loader its brillant and got $150 rebate of next water bill so got it at the same price as the cheaper brands german engine very quite a lot of the new machines are made in Thailand not that I have a problem with that just saying

  • We have a top loader atm but it’s nearly the end of it’s life and we are also looking at a new one. I’ve only ever used top loaders but my husband has said front loaders are better?? Will have to look into it and let you know…or you can let me know what you decide and I’ll copy ;)

  • I love front-loaders. They are a lot more environmental-friendly that the top loaders. And they clean better too. I’ve got an Electrolux and I’m very happy it. I’ve seen there is a new range of Electrolux washing machines: Time manager. They look interesting! http://www.electrolux.com.au/products/laundry_room/

  • I have a Fisher and Paykel top loader and it’s brilliant. I do at least 1 load every day and it hasn’t missed a beat in the 2 years we’ve had it.

  • I don’t like front loaders, though my mum has one and she loves it. I like my top loader because I like that I can add to it if I forget. A front loader you cant do this. I have the same washing machine that my grandparents have and they have had theirs for over 10 years! I have a Fisher & Paykel.
