Hello!

Today there are so many allergies like nuts around and we have to be careful what to pack for lunches. I have a preschooler and would like some recipe ideas that are school friendly.

  • My daughter’s favourite lunch is cheese and tomato sandwiches with a piece of fruit and a biscuit.

  • Sandwiches, savoury tarts or savoury muffins, fruit, vegie sticks etc.

  • I would say sandwiches and fruit & veg would be the safest option. Pretty boring I know!

  • Things like fruit and veg and bread are the safest foods I think!

  • stick to simple and fresh foods without packaging or preservatives – look for info on nude food diets

  • Fruit, veg and sandwiches are the safe options. You’ll have to go through ingredients if you want to buy cake slices or muffins. Otherwise make the at home yourself.

  • Fruit, vegie sticks, sandwiches, cheese and crackers etc.

  • Guys, disregard that last comment, I was answering the wrong question!! LOL. Sorry.

  • Sounds like a great idea, I just did a quick google and the bookdepository has some, and you’d be able to get them through ebay and amazon as well. Good luck, get yourself a nice set of pencils too. Derwents perhaps?

  • I agree – whole foods are basically the only option at our daycare – we send a big mixed fruit salad and usually rice cakes, maybe a slice of bread with cream cheese and ham – our youngest is pretty picky though so he enjoys plain foods eg/ popcorn no toppings.

  • Good old Vegemite sandwiches, a muffin, a piece of fruit & a bottle water, cordial for a treat is always a winner for mine

  • sushi

  • my daycare gave us a list of suggestions like fruit, veg and popcorn for the bigger kids

  • Vegemite sandwiches, carrot sticks, mini quiches, muffins, cheese and biscuits.

  • Choose low risk foods such as hard cheeses, freshly cooked meats and poultry, fresh, well-washed fruits and vegetables, canned tuna or salmon, shelf stable snacks and sandwich spreads.
