  • Great question, and enjoyed reading the answers – got some good ideas on this tricky topic.

  • I answer questions as soon as they start asking them. Haven’t had a big talk, just lots of little chats

  • When they started asking questions, I started answering them. Conscious of age appropriate descriptions. The older they get, the more info they get. With a little help from the local library’s book supply

  • Might be better to tell the kids after 5 years old or when you think your kids ready to know it.

  • I guess you wait until they start being inquisitive about it. Then you’ll know the are ready

  • It is up to the child …. I had one child ask and she was only 10 … but all my other children found out about 13 and 14 … get them to read a book is usually the best

  • Whenever your child starts asking questions, age apropiate answer obviously! Your children look to you for abswer to their curiosity we as parents should be honest and open other wise they may seek the wrong answers on their own.

  • When are you going to talk about it?

  • Maybe it is a case of waiting until she/he starts asking about it.

  • I had to explain to my two they were made in a test tube…..IVF

  • At the library there is a video & book called “Where did I come from ” Suitable from age 5 then a diffrent one for age 7 asnd so on up to puberty they are appropriate and I used them

  • Thanks heaps ! Wondering this myself. .

  • The word gets around quick when they start school.
I would leave it till then.

  • How did it go Hope it turned out well

  • Hahahahah I hate that question. I let my daughter tell me what she thinks n go with that for now
