Hello!

Hi I have a question my daughter has just started kindy (she is 5 turning 6 in June). We started before and after school care 2 weeks into term. I have been asked if I had thought about having her assessed for ADHD by before and after school care. Is it too early to think about it? When is the right time to be assessed for ADHD?

  • Go for it! It is expensive though.

  • Our pediatrician gave the teacher a questionnaire to complete over a 4 – 6 week period, but that assessed both ADD and dyslexia. I was told end of kindy is the earliest. Best of luck.

  • I think they get diagnosed around school age so would be a good time to have her checked.

  • I hope you found out about your little one and all is ok

  • I hope that you found the right time

  • I think it is a good age now.

  • I would suggest just taking her to your GP.

  • If u are asking the question I think it’s time to do the assessment!

  • Hope you managed to come to a decision

  • Only u know the answer. If u feel u need to then I think u should

  • Meant to say I am from a big family. Lolz

  • Age is not a drama asim from a big family 9 kids including myself only three girls and 6 boys and the whole lot of my brothers have ADHD and got assessed at 1-2 yrs old, hope this helps your decision good luck :)

  • She can be assessed now at her age ;)

  • I think its the perfect age. You may find she will be more content ,

  • if the school professionals are suggesting it, doesn’t hurt to talk to your doc about it. Get it done and get a plan of action ready if its needed.
