  • In our family all girls had their ears pierced at a young age. My daughters were 6 months old when we got the pierced and never had any problems with them at the time or even now

  • My 17yr old has many :)
My 11 yr old got her ears pierced when she turned 6yr
My youngest is 7yrs old and doesn’t have her ears pierced.

  • My daughter sis nearly 5 and I’m still waiting for her to ask. I wanted to do when she was younger but hubby said her choice.

  • When she asks for it to be done

  • Still not my elder will turn 5 in feburary and younger is 3

  • Still not my elder will turn 5

  • Assuming you’re talking about getting a normal ear piercing… don’t get it don’t until your child asks and is also old enough to understand that it will hurt a little bit and how to look after them.
Children don’t need their ears pierced, it’s not a necessity. It’s something mother’s get
done because they think it’s looks pretty.
You wouldn’t get your kids eyebrow or nose pierced so why their ears? Leave them alone until she’s old enough to make the decision for herself

  • Hi mom325275,
I have read through mom member comments and all are answering on ear piercing but I am intrigued and confused by your question. Are you referring to spacer ear rings also called ear holes.
If this is the case …my answer would be NEVER.
If it for piercing with the intent to wear sleepers, studs, pretty small ear rings …then when the child is old enough to know what they want and are able to care for the wound/hole themselves.

  • Whenever she’s ready and capable of understanding. No rush for us

  • We waited until 8 years old with our eldest.
It was a nightmare. Frequent infections, screaming, closing up, redoing, and so on.
She just refused to look after them.
We refused to redo them a third time (age 9) and made her wait until 11. Same thing again. Revolving door of refusal to clean or look after them.
She’s nearly 14 now and everytime she wears earrings, her ears are sore for weeks. It’s not an allergy thing, she’s just lazy.

We did our youngest’s at 8 months. Zero issues. She’s nearly 4 and loves them. She asks to clean them regularly and loves he special set her grandparents bought her before she was even conceived lol

  • We got both our girls done really young. They were 8 months and 9 months respectively. I couldn’t wait to get their ears pierced, and they looked so cute! And now they are 4 and 6 and they have no recollection of it.

  • My husband wanted our daughters ears pierced as early as possible, I wanted her ears pierced too but I was nervous about the judgement and comments I might receive. We waited until she was 11 months, this was a good age because she wasn’t wanting to touch them and I was able to clean and care for them in those first few weeks. If she doesn’t want them pierced as she gets older then she can remove the earrings, it’s not a big issue IMO. My niece wanted her ears pierced and twice she ran out crying and was too scared to go through with it, my sister wishes she did her daughters ears while she was a baby so she didn’t have to go through the anguish of wanting them done but being too scared of the pain.

  • I haven’t done it for my 7 year old as she is scared to do t so I am waiting for her yes.

  • No No to ear piercing until at least they are 12 or so or if they want them done
