Hello!

Where can you get circumcision done? My bub will be born in the A.C.T. and they don’t do circumcision there. What places do you recommend?

  • Medical experts agree that the risks of circumcision for non-medical reasons outweigh the benefits. Circumcision isn’t performed in Australian public hospitals unless there’s a medical reason for it. If you choose to circumcise your son, make sure the operation is done safely and with adequate pain control. I’m sure there are circumcision clinics here.

  • Really hoping you didn’t find anyone to perform this. It’s so cruel and barbaric, a totally outdated procedure that isn’t necessary if your child has no issues

  • My little boy is circumcised – of course doctors still do it legally! I live in Wagga Wagga and our doctor does 3 a week – you have to book in weeks in advance. Dr Oliver at Blamey Street Medical in Wagga Wagga if you are willing to travel – he is fabulous and a very nice doctor. He suggests you get it done in the first 3 weeks. Hope you find one closer to home for you but it’s an option.

  • no i think that it was fairly recent that they thought that babies didn’t feel pain and they did this procedure with no pain relief! i didn’t do this to my son but i see no need to. my baby was born healthy so i am not messing with that. my gosh you do hear the horror stories of boys getting too much off and being made to think that they were girls growing up. not funny at all and wayyy too scary of a risk

  • Just a thought, cause everyone thinks differently, my husband is and would like to be the same but my brothers aren’t so I suppose everyone has different feeling about it!

  • I see no one else has replied to this question yet. I guess that could be seen of what people think about it here in Australia

  • I think you will get struggling to find anyone legal in Australia that will circumcise a baby, especially when there’s no reason for it. Read up about it, find out the damage and pain it inflicts. It may change your mind on wanting this barbaric practice done. There are no medical reasons for it and if you wish to make your baby physically suffer for religious beliefs…….Google it and read up :/
