Hello!

I was just wondering where people get their fashion advice from and how to keep up to date with out spending a fortune every season buying new clothes.

  • I try to just buy one or two new pieces a season. Most of my clothes are pretty classic, so they look stylish (not trendy) for many years.

  • I recently did have a styling session at my local shopping centre and was told that I suit warm colours for my complexion, so I guess I’ll start looking at different coloured items in future.

  • I tend to have my own style and not follow fashion trends.

  • Some items such as a good pair of jeans and a jacket are invaluable and lasts every season looking good. Keeping up with trends are is expensive and I think it is good to preplan and buy things on sale and I doubt any clothing is urgent unless it is a specific uniform for work . I also chat with the shop assistants if I need anything particular , and I am good at not allowing myself to be pressured in any way . All good clothing stores should have expertise in the clothing they sell , and their job is to advise customers on their needs anyway .

  • I don’t keep up with trends. I know what suits me and I stick to that style.

  • I dont really look for fashion advice either but mum is always a good help!

  • My fashion advise comes from….me. If I need it, it must fit well, be comfortable, suit my needs, economical to clean(no dry cleaning), the right colour to suit MY taste, and budget. Only you personally can answer all those requirements. No store, no blog, no sales person knows all that, so if I see something that catches my eye, I have have my own fashion guru in these questions I always ask. Works every time, and my wardrobe is perfect…for me.

  • I read lots of aussie bloggers, keep my basics and just use cheaper chain stores for the ‘trends’.

  • I find I have my own style and don’t feel necessary to keep up with fashion haha

  • I dont really look for fashion advise although i would love to be stylish, but with kids in a one income family its a little hard and will have to wait till im back at work as well. Then there will be a little more money to splash around on myself.

  • I generally do not follow current fashion trends and just aim to wear what suits my body type. I have styles that I prefer and them seem to not be viewed as fuddy duddy (yet lol) so I shop to replace those items only in my wardrobe. Different occasions call for different styles but since I have a basic ‘kit’ of clothing I wear I try to buy at end of seasons sales etc as regardless of what’s ‘in’ the following year these clothes go with my standard wardrobe.

  • I generally go with what is new in store or online at the beginning of every season. I buy everyday clothes from Target, Big W, Miller’s & more dressy clothes from Myer.

  • I love having basic pieces like Black slacks, leggings, tights and black tee-shirts and tops and shirts. I add a splash of colour with great textured cardigans, jumpers, coats and scarves and poncho’s. I love wearing boots in winter with a great blazer. I love charity shops you just might find that one piece you will love. I find great bargains there. (I also take a bag of clothes to donate often so my wardrobe does not get too overwhelming)

  • Personally,I have no fashion sense. I like charity shops though. If you are patient and not up to date with fashion, you can put together some fantastic outfits.

  • I have just come across this style lounge outside david jones. it is a mini personal styling session for free! I wonder if it is any good. i may check it out and let you know!
