Hello!

“I need help my nearly 19month old is driving me insane. I’m very patient with her but every meal she throws her food all over the ground and it drives me literally up the wall. I’ve tried ignoring it (as she loves a reaction), I’ve tried a tap on the hand, I’ve tried turning her to the wall or putting her in a room away from us, telling her no. I don’t know what else to do. I know it may be a phase but how do I teach her it’s not on! I don’t want this happening when she is 4! Any tips would help! ”

  • Great! It was interesting reading the comments to this!

  • Hope she has stopped, but you need to just keep telling her it’s bad.

  • just keep telling her it is naughty and she will grow out of it, one of my grandkids was shocking and even embarrassing with it and she grew out of it by the time she was 2.5

  • i hope it is just a phase

  • That’s so tough! My little guy only did it for a while, and all we had to do was taking of him, until he settled the give it back… And repeat lol

  • Mine did that when she was in her high chair so we stopped putting her in the high chair and either let her have a floor picnic (tablecloth that was easy to wash) and she is fine now. She has a toddler table that she is very happy to sit at now.

  • i hope she has gotten better

  • Hope you managed to find the answer you were looking for.

  • Is she still doing it?

  • she is probably not hungry

  • Might be put on kids TV show her like when feeding her.

  • It’s probably a phase. If she does it take away the food. When she gets hungry she will understand not to throw food.

  • Hope you have manages to stop her doing this.

  • For a minute there I thought your child was physically throwing her food up. Throwing it around is a bit different, I think she thinks it is a fun game. I am not sure how but you need to let her know it is serious, ask daddy to say something to her(if there’s a daddy)

  • I hope this situation has resolved itself for you.
