Mum of five shared a photo on her popular Facebook page of her twin girls getting their ears pierced. Of course the parenting police were quick to jump on her back, but fans weren’t gonna stand for it…

Katie Stauffer’s family is well known for their beautiful photography and funny videos that her twin daughters, Emma and Mila, make together.

With four million followers on Facebook and also over on Instagram the family is not shy when it comes to sharing their daily life.

A recent social media post was about the twins getting their ears pierced by a professional tattooist.

Of course people weren’t overly impressed, but her fans soon told them where to go…

Some comments slammed the mum over her choice:

“To each their own…but it doesn’t take a degree to piece ears….I’m sure he’s a very nice man. But I for one would never want my baby to look up at this man and let him put a hole in my child. This is so upsetting to me. How has this look become so Acceptable to almost everyone posting on here.”

“Tipping point for me. A man who has deformed his ears is piercing perfect, beautiful children’s ears, while she appears scared. WTF?”

Others said she made the right choice:

“Thank you for taking her to a piercing professional instead of a high school drop out at Clairs with a plastic gun!”

“I LOVE that you took them to a licensed piercer instead of the mall kiosk! So smart & the girls look adorable!!!”

“A Mom who knows her stuff. Always go to a professional piercer at a tattoo shop and not your local Walmart.”

“I read an article that explained tattoo parlors where piercing was offered was far superior to the old “store in the mall” type of place. The parlors are regulated and inspected, the equipment is sterilized and the person doing the piercing is typically a piercer first, not a store clerk”

“I’m so happy you went to a trained professional. The guns hurt your ears more and do more damage when piercing them. Looking good girls”

A couple of years ago we shared a story from a Mum explaining why she chose to have her daughter’s ears pierced at a tattoo parlour. Read that here.

Would you take your child to a tattoo parlour for their ear piercings?

  • wow…..love how everyone has an opinion and feel they have the right to be outraged over something thats really not that big of a deal.

  • Far out… good to see so many people judge a book by its cover…. ????
Piercings at tattoo parlours are hygienic and better than plastic guns

  • Each to their own. I personally wouldn’t have gone there

  • It’s better to go to a licensed business who are closely monitored with health and hygiene. The girls look very proud of themselves. My Nanna always told me you should never judge a book by it’s cover. My son got a girl to pierce his ear and shove an earring through while they were coming home on the school bus. Needless to say I was not impressed

  • In all honesty I don’t think it is a very good setting to take your children. You can get your ears pierced at other places like Priceline. You never know who might walk into a tattoo parlor.

  • Good on the mother people are so quick to judge because he has tattoos and piercings who probably was the nicest guy and treated the girls beautiful except people for who they are instead of trolling

  • If that’s the world they live in, then this is fine. Their parents may be covered in tattoos just the same.

  • Love the photos, so cute. Who cares what others think or say as long as your girls are happy and healthy.

  • I think she’s done her homework and she has seen a professional about getting this done. Would people think any differently if it was a woman with a small tattoo doing this. They look absolutely adorable.

  • I wouldn’t take my child to a tattoo parlour for piercing as my Beauty Therapist is fully qualified to do this. However, at least this Mum had a professional do it. Her children don’t appear traumatised by the experience.

  • good on her for using a professional
The first comment on the guys look, so bloody what, he has tatts and stretchers, dont make him a monster
ive got several piercings, all done by a professional, not one issue
my ears were done by a hairdresser with a gun around the same age as these kids, i had so much trouble with them, i ended up taking them out at 10
