If you’re a fan of One Born Every Minute you will LOVE this!

It’s coming to Australia this year.

Channel 10 have confirmed a local version of the hit UK series, which follows nurses and parents in a real-life maternity ward, is going into production.

Produced by Endemol Shine Australia, One Born Every Minute will commence shooting in Sydney in the coming months.

“We have seen our audiences really embrace and enjoy an insight into the world of genuinely amazing Australians including paramedics and life-guards so having the opportunity to now get close to the incredible and dedicated teams who help us through childbirth is not only thrilling but is a real privilege and a series we believe will be very special,” Ten chief content officer Beverley McGarvey said in a statement.

  • I love this show! I used to think I was over the top during my deliveries, carrying on about the pain and groaning loudly etc. then I watch this show and see that it’s normal and I was quite mild in comparison. Hubby can’t watch it though!

  • I have never seen this show – but I think it is great to bring it to Aus. It’s something I think everyone should have exposure to because far too many people don’t know the first thing about having babies!

  • I love the UK version of this show (not so much the American one). I’d never agree to be one of the mums on it but I can’t wait for it to be on.

  • Sounds a lot better than the current crop of reality TV to me.

  • I don’t really watch television, but it certainly sounds better than Married at First Sight and similar shows.

  • Love this show. Watched it all the time while pregnant with my second. I actually used a lot of the information to ensure I had a drug free birth. Hopefully an Aussie version will help encourage and empower women to take control of their birthing experience. I also hope they show women breastfeeding when the baby is first born. The breastfeeding rates in the UK are horrible so it isn’t shown much.

  • No. I don’t need to view childbirth. My own was not pleasant, except for the beautiful son I now have.

  • I love watching the UK version and also watched the US version. Be great to see the Aussie one they’re making. I think it’s a well put together show & doesn’t try to hide or gloss over any of the parts of childbirth.

  • This will be interesting but I bet they show all the positive ones and not the bad parts like how my OB and midwife started talking about their weekend when I was pushing my baby out and ignored me or forced me to get up to try and have the baby on the toilet
