Parents have begun hiring Fortnite coaches for their children to help them get better and avoid bullying at school.

Worried parents are using the services of coaches to help their kids improve on their gaming skills, shares Daily Mail.

One mother paid $50 for four hours of lessons from a professional Fortnite coach so that her 10-year-old son could improve his skills in the popular shoot-em-up game.

‘There’s pressure not to just play it but to be really good at it,’ she told the Wall Street Journal.

Other parents said they had hired the coaches for themselves so they can engage with their kids who are obsessed with the game.

Would you hire a coach to improve your child’s gaming skills?

  • Isn’t this beyond ridiculous?! How about footy coaching or coaching fir your school work. Not for games

  • Obviously these kids don’t have healthy or constructive activities at all.
What will their futures hold when they are due to leave school and obtain employment? Are we as taxpayers going to support those with this addiction and essential services be under-funded even more?

  • Really? This is simply out of control. Hiring a coach to improve your child’s Maths etc. is okay, but gaming? I’m not sure what that’s teaching him. Thank God my son’s not that interested in gaming.

  • What a crock of sh*%. My kids don’t have Fortnite and the only gaming device they have is a Nintento DS.

  • This is absolutely ridiculous! I’ve just read a story of a boy’s anxiety issues due to gaming addiction, and here’s a story of parents getting gaming coaches!!! What is wrong with these parents! Why do they think their 10 to needs to be so good at a console game?! Frightening

    • Certainly would never ever make my priority list!

  • No way! So many other things that I deem worthwhile to spend money on for the benefit of the children.

  • lol, I wouldn’t hire a coach for my kids to learn any video game, I would however hire one for myself!

I think this is really ridiculous and shows that some parents might have more money then sense!
