A driver has managed to get off with a warning after being caught driving with an obstructed view from their windscreen.

NSW Traffic and Highway Patrol Command pulled the driver over last week after noticing dozens of Coles Stikeez on the windscreen.

A NSW spokesperson said the officer explained to the man he couldn’t drive with them on his windscreen in case they obstructed his view of the road.

“He immediately complied and no further action was taken,” the spokesperson told Yahoo7 News.

NSW Traffic and Highway Patrol Command took to Facebook to warn drivers Stikeez should stay off vehicles’ windscreens.

“It’s always important to have a clear view out of the front windscreen and ‘Stikeez’ are not meant for the windscreen,” they wrote.

  • I have actually seen these being stuck in lots of different places when out – on mail boxes, windows and other places. This is so dangerous on a windscreen!

  • I can imagine a bored child putting them on the windscreen, but to drive with them there is quite silly!

  • Wow – really!!! Pretty sad that someone thinks this is OK. I’m not a fan of Stikeez in my house, but I’d rather them there then on my windscreen

  • Surely only an idiot would try this.
