A driver has managed to get off with a warning after being caught driving with an obstructed view from their windscreen.

NSW Traffic and Highway Patrol Command pulled the driver over last week after noticing dozens of Coles Stikeez on the windscreen.

A NSW spokesperson said the officer explained to the man he couldn’t drive with them on his windscreen in case they obstructed his view of the road.

“He immediately complied and no further action was taken,” the spokesperson told Yahoo7 News.

NSW Traffic and Highway Patrol Command took to Facebook to warn drivers Stikeez should stay off vehicles’ windscreens.

“It’s always important to have a clear view out of the front windscreen and ‘Stikeez’ are not meant for the windscreen,” they wrote.

  • I think the driver would have more common sense!

    • I know I’m surprised anyone would need to be told this.

  • I’m surprised no one tried breaking into his car just to get them. With this crazy world we live in I wouldn’t trust showing anything through my car

  • What a stupid idea. How do people come up with these ideas?

  • I haven’t got enough stikeez to do this. My local Coles store has sold out already, I only got to collect them in one visit, a total of eleven

  • Wonder if the kids were left waiting in the car?

    • It looks like the child or passenger has done that! Funny.

  • Some people have a wild imagination or is it a attention seeker?
You are not supposed to obscure your rear window either but many people have luggage so high that they can’t see out of it either.
I heard about a truck driver who put tinsel on the bumper bar of his truck for Christmas cheer. The Police pulled him over and ordered him to remove it or he would be fined. It was a distraction to other drivers according to the Police Officer who pulled him over.
