The Flagstone playground is set to be the biggest playground on the Southside of Brisbane!

The $4 million playground has an adventure and discovery theme with experiences for everyone – from tiny tots to tough mudders, including inclusive play opportunities.

The main structure is an 11 metre high tower (comparable to a three storey building), with two sky cabins linked by a giant octanet and 19 metre long skybridge.

The new playground will be the centrepiece of Flagstone’s $12 million regional discovery park, which already boasts a dog park with water play equipment and competition-standard skate plaza.

Features

• 11 metre high tower (comparable to a three-storey building!)

• Two sky cabins

• A giant octanet

• Two 15 metre long racing slides

• A 35 metre long ‘S’ curved swing with eight swing seats

• Dual flying foxes

• A fossil dig along with hidden “dinosaur” bones; and

• A sensory caterpillar

  • Unfortunately the surfaces of a lot of playground equipment get very hot and you can get burns from them…….including the special surfaces you. Some brands of surfaces get sticky. Children have been walking or worse still running on it, lifted one shoe /foot up ok and the next one stuck. There has been some injuries in SA from them – including in school yards. A lady suggested to me that some of it may be a “cheap” brand. I have also seen some in a public playground lifting up. Swing seats are often very hot too. In the warm weather I always take plenty of drinking water with us. I usually tip a little bit on my fingers and quickly touch the equipment to see if it is warm/hot before I let the kids go on it

    • True ! We never visit the playground on hot days, naturally that’s just not very appealing.

  • Impressive but would take some time to iron out the kinks. Have known giant slides to be scorching hot or be too steep leading to injuries for adults and kids alike!

  • This reminds of what they’ve done in Strathfield park in NSW. The only thing missing from Strathfield is a water playground. I really feel like they missed an opportunity with the swings in this QLD park though, only eight?

  • This isn’t far from me, I can’t
Wait to check it out, I know my preschooler will love it. I will wait until the initial craze has died down though, not to mention the heat, seriously 35-40 degree forecast and so far it’s been 2 degrees above forecast for the past 2 weeks.
