  • OK but I Prefer the Crumbed Products

    2.5 out of 5

The batter on these fish pieces tends to be a little lacking in texture and taste. I prefer the crumbed versions. However it is quick and easy and OK tasting.

  • Good alternative

Goodbut not the greatest. I’m very used to the sealord brand from NZ (as i am kiwi), and this just doesnt hit the spot for me. I like the battered better than the crumbed version. I dont see sealord often here in Perth so this is my alternative if I ever crave for it.

  • Great product

    5 out of 5

These are my favourite from the birds eye oven baked range. Perfect for a quick and easy lunch or dinner. Turns out great when cooked in the air Fryer only takes 18 mins. Perfect amount of batter and taste great with some tartare.

  • Delicious

    4.5 out of 5

The birds eye oven bake loghtly battered fish is yummy. I found that with less batter they were lighter than other battered fish. It was refreshing and not too heavy. Cooked them in the air fryer and they were crunchy. Easy to cook for a quick meal for the family

  • Deliciously naughty

This is really tasty but I try not to eat too much bartered foods. As an occasional food this is really tasty and I like to try different fish regularly

Great product. This is a family favorite. Very affordable, quick to cook and tastes great!! Kids enjoy this fish more than buying it from the take away shop

  • Lovely

This is my favourite frozen fish to eat with salad for a quick to prepare meal. The batter is lovely and light, and the fish has a lovely delicate taste. All my family likes to eat it, so it’s a win for family dinners.

Yummy fish – battered is nice! I love to have this frozen fish in the back of the freezer as it is quick and simple to make and makes for a great dinner.

  • Love the batter

    3 out of 5

A nice fish with tasty batter. Sometimes though it does look like alot of oil is coming out when I bake them. Tasty with some mayonnaise and a side of baked potatoe wedges.

  • Almost like the real thing

    4 out of 5

I found this to be really tasty for a frozen product, nearly as good as from the fish and chip shop. The batter is light and not too oily

  • Fish meals made easy...

    3.5 out of 5

I have these on hand in the freezer, for those nights I don’t feel inspired enough to cook,
Great sliced in tacos with salad & a drizzle of aioli.

  • Batter goes a bit soggy in the oven

    3.5 out of 5

The fish is flakes and not dried out when cooked in the oven, but the batter at the bottom goes a bit soggy whenever I cook it

  • Cheat’s fish and chips

    4.5 out of 5

I often have Birds Eye lightly battered fish on hand to whip up a quick fish and chip dinner. I like the light battering and portion size and the fish itself has a nice subtle flavour.

  • Rubbish

    0.5 out of 5

Have to say it is horrible !!
Really cloying batter ! Don’t buy it ! Complete waste of money !
Zero rating ! Birdseye you really need to to do better !!
Have to say if you want to buy frozen fish in these very difficult time’s with a decent batter, buy Young’s ! At least it tastes better !!

  • Always keep some in the freezer!

    4 out of 5

We always keep some of these in the freezer in case we run out of everything and can’t decide what to cook! They’re really easy to cook and taste okay too!

  • A delicous freezer dinner

I always keep a packet of birdseyes oven bake fish in the freezer it’s perfect for busy weeknights great with frozen vegies or salad a family favourite

  • Tender fish

These battered fish are really tasty. The fish is succulent and the batter is so light and fluffy. We enjoy these with scalloped potatoes and vegetables.

  • Delicious and nutritious

    4.5 out of 5

Perfect batter to fish ratio, delicious soft flaky fish even the children love it. My 6 year old has two pieces because he loves it and it’s perfect to go with veggies on the side for a healthy no fuss dinner. I would recommend keeping a box on hand

  • quick and eazy

    5 out of 5

    These are great
My husband gets them ready with some steamed veggies and dinned is done
Quick and easy yet keeps you full meal
    Cant go wrong

  • Flavoursome, however, the portions are minute.

    1.5 out of 5

I don’t normally purchase fish in this manner. I like to batter, crumb or just grill unadorned fish fillets. I purchased this product at a small IGA store. Fortunately, I purchased two boxes for dinner in order to feed an adult family of six.
One portion would have fed a child under six!
I am a female and one portion was no longer than my palm and at least 1.5cm less than the width of my palm!
I would not purchase this product again. Nor would I recommend it to friends and family.
The fool who decided that this portion size was acceptable needs a reality check!!

  • batter is good

    4 out of 5

I like that the batter is not too heavy and you can actually taste the fish inside. Too often, packaged fish is all batter or crumb with minimal fish filling. I like to do these in the air fryer as they crisp up really well.

  • more cooking

    5 out of 5

my family like these as they are not too fishy! they are great to have in the freezer for emergencies when you need a quick meal. the only thing is I always cook them for a good 10 mins more so they go crunchy on the outside.

  • Great Meal Idea

    5 out of 5

These packets of Birds Eye oven bake lightly battered fish tend to be on sale for half price quite often (even this week in fact) and so I buy them in bulk and we have them wish chips and veggies at least once a week. This is my favourite brand and I love the taste and texture of the fish.

  • Always go for this one

    5 out of 5

Love birds eye brand it is lightly battered cooks really well in the oven the directions are correct and they don’t taste watery or to fishy

  • Crispy and crunchy

    4 out of 5

I love the texture of the batter covering these fish when you take them out of the oven because the outside is perfectly crunchy and crispy.

  • No flavour

    0.5 out of 5

I will never buy these again. I’d rather have cardboard! They are very very bland. I guess you could put them in a sandwich or roll. But I won’t be wasting my money again. Sorry

  • Yummy, crunchy and easy!

    3.5 out of 5

We love these fish fillets, sometimes takes a bit longer to get these crunchy (can be soggy if not cooked for long enough) but once the crunch sets in these are really tasty, nice moist fish inside!

  • Fish N chips

    4 out of 5

The Brids Eye Oven Bake lightly battered fish tastes great. You need to bake it in the oven long enough to make the batter crisp and not soggy. Add chips, salad or veggies and dinner done. A cheaper option than takeaway and nice hoki fillets.

  • Great product

    5 out of 5

We regularly buy this fish and it’s often on sale at all big grocers. Cooks well light and crispy while remaining moist inside tastes so good with a drop of lemon.

  • Excellent!

    3.5 out of 5

I like the thin, light batter on these however it needs plenty of cooking time so it’s not too limp and greasy. Lovely fish fillets.

  • Very good!

    4 out of 5

  • converted another of my kids

    4.5 out of 5

I’ve managed to convert another one of my kids over to the battered variety, from the crumbed. Cooks nicely in the oven, not soggy – nice and crisp! The only brand of frozen fish I will buy

  • Healthy Meal Choice.

    3.5 out of 5

When I purchase Frozen Fish for the family, this is the brand and the variety I usually choose, I love the light batter on this, similar to a Tempura batter. The fish takes no time at all in the oven, during the 15 mins it’s cooking, I usually chop up a yummy, fresh salad and dinner is done.
My only issue with the fish is that I can sometimes can pieces of fish which have grey/black areas throughout the fish meat which don’t look at all appetising and I am positive that last time I read the origin of the fish on the products packaging, it said Indonesia or something like that, because I remember thinking ‘why would they import fish from their dirty water and not use fish caught in Aussie waters?’.

  • Just squeeze lemon on top

    3.5 out of 5

Easy, fast, better then take away
Its a bit bland, but squeeze some lemon juice and top, and serve with fries and a salad, and it will be the most convenient meal you made

  • Can't go past oven baked

    3.5 out of 5

Quick meal, these and a packet of oven fries, quick salad on the side. Hoki is a family favourite as it doesn’t have an overpowering fish taste. There’s just the right amount of crispy batter too, a good balance of fish and batter

  • Birds Eye Fish

    4 out of 5

Birds Eye Oven Bake Battered Fish is tasty and easy to cook and even easier to eat. It is fish that everyone in the family will happily eat for a quick and easy Friday night meal.

  • Great for the kids

    4.5 out of 5

These are great for the kids because of their light battered coating. I love hoki fillets and they are still really nice and moist when backed in the oven.
