As meat prices rise sometimes this is the only red meat that we get, it is good for versatility. I have used in pies, casseroles, stews, soups, all in the slow cooker
Chuck steak is really a great cut of meat. It cooks down beautifully if cooked slowly. I use it for curries, stews, and I make a mock osso bucco out of it too
I buy this product regularly but have found this to have increased in price dramatically. What used to be a cheap cut of meat is now up there with the price of higher quality meats!
The Meat Standards Australia (MSA) Graded logo is a symbol of quality you can trust when buying and cooking Australian beef . Symbolising cuts of beef that will always be tender.
I have found that chuck adds a hearty flavour to my soup, nice and lean it gives body to the soup.
I do add a couple of osso bucco bones though as well, as this adds thickener from the marrow.
