Every winter I buy this cut of meat to make different meals in the slow cooker. It’s great value because you are only paying for meat, not bones or big layers of fat on the out edges of the meat. It makes a beautiful massaman curry, beef and vegetable soup, rogan josh curry and a few more. I don’t even bother dicing up the meat, just cut the pieces in half and they fall apart anyway near the end of cooking. The thin strip of meat in the middle of the meat goes lovely and tender as well.
Use this one for the traditional European goulash with bread dumplings. Such a nice tender meat and with a good slow cooker & some paprika, onion, salt & pepper and few other ingredients, it’s just great!
Have to admit that this steak is my second choice for stews, casseroles and my beef and veggie stock pot soup ..my first choice is chuck but never the less this steak is delicious and works really well slow cooked.
