The ACCC have issued a recall for IS Gift Illuminate Bunny LED Light.

A recall has been issued for the IS Gift Illuminate Bunny LED Light.

The battery compartment may not be adequately secured allowing possible access to the button battery if the product is dropped on a hard surface.

What are the hazards?
If young children gain access to the button batteries and ingest them, they may suffer internal burn injuries, which can result in serious illness and even death. In addition the batteries may pose a choking hazard to young children.

Consumers should cease using the product and return it to their nearest Harris Scarfe store for a full refund.

Dummy Chains – Silicon beads attached to a clip and then to baby’s clothing for dummy to be attached to.

Teething Rattle – Silicon beads with wooden rings attached for baby to chew on to relieve teething pain.

What are the defects?

Products do not comply with relevant mandatory standards Consumer Goods (Babies’ Dummies and Dummy Chains) Safety Standard 2017 and Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 — Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age.

Beads can come loose from the products.

What are the hazards?

If the beads come loose, they present a choking hazard to babies and young children.

What should consumers do?

Consumers who have purchased the product will be sent an envelope to return the product. A full refund will be provided.

What are the defects?

This product does not meet clause 6.3 of Consumer Protection Notice No. 1 of 2003. The top slats are more than 100 mm apart.

What are the hazards?

The bunk bed poses a risk of entrapment.

What should consumers do?

Customers will be contacted and new side rails and slats for the top bunk will be installed for the customer free of charge. Consumers can email accounts@jholdings.com.au

  • We have needed to be advised of too many recalls in recent months. What has happened to quality controls when products are manufactured / processed? It used to be an important practice many years ago.
