I love my breakfast smoothie, mainly because it requires little effort and is tasty as well. It is an easy start to the day and something I don’t even think about. Which is a treat in itself.

Ingredients (serves 1)

  • 2 Bananas - Frozen and Sliced
  • 2 Tablespoon Chia Seeds soaked in 1/3 cup water
  • Handful Sliced fruit in season
  • 1 cup Almond Milk

Method

  1. Place all in a blender - you might have to add extra Almond Milk if it is too thick until it becomes a good consistency.
  2. Garnish with a sprig of mint and some blueberries!

  • Sounds yummy but smoothies are not my thing.

  • Reckon this is a quick and easy recipe you could make and store in the fridge for a few days!

    • Takes no time to whizz up – you can have all the ingredients ready to go though and then blend freshly. Only takes a minute or so.

  • I usually use fresh fruit in my smoothies but love the idea of frozen fruit as I’m sure it makes a thicker, more refreshing smoothie!

    • Frozen fruit is great for summer – and also great for getting the kids to love it as well.

  • I have banana and almond milk in the cupboard. I love a banana or mixed smoothie and my preference is always for the fruit to be frozen. It needs to be cold and thick.

    • I agree 100% – always have frozen bananas in the freezer and when in season berries and mangoes!
