This Chimichurri Sauce is so fresh, so flavoursome and perfect on all types of meat – especially a good quality steak.

Ingredients (serves 1)

  • 3 cloves garlic Fresh
  • 1 fresh chili Or 1 tsp of dried chili flakes (measurement to your taste)

Method

  1. Put all ingredients apart from the oil into a mortar and pestle and mix all ingredients until it combines into paste
  2. Add oil and store in a jar at room temperature

  • How would it get the green colour? I assume there’s more to it perhaps!

    • I was thinking the same thing. I feel like something is missing with this recipie

  • I so want to try Chimichurri but I don’t think this recipe is complete …. can someone please tell me what is missing?

  • I think some of the ingredients are missing?

  • Thanks for the recipe. Can’t wait to try it.

  • Sounds good I could make this as I love chilli thanks so much

  • Is it really only 2 ingredients? I’ve seen Jamie Oliver make this and I’m sure he used more then 2 ingredients.

  • Ahhhhh, that’s what it is. I’m not a fan of hot spice or heat and had no idea what this was. I’ve heard it now on many food shows, so had no idea it was only 2 ingredients. I imagine I can temper the heat to try.

  • What makes the sauce green coloured – neither of the two ingredients mentioned are green?

  • The photo shows a green chimichurri, and all recipes I have read have oil and an acid in them ie lemon juice or red wine vinegar. Sorry, I know you have said add oil after placing in the jar, but how do these ingredients make a sauce

  • Thanks for sauce – will try when I next cook steak.

    • I think possibly the parsley and other herbs have dropped off the recipe? Maybe update? :)
