Ingredients (serves 20)

  • chocolate chips (Nestle milk chocolate bits)
  • 375g plain flour
  • 250g butter
  • 125g caster sugar
  • pinch salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 170C.
  2. Beat butter and sugar then add the flour and salt. Roll out onto a floured surface and cut into round shapes. Put on a baking tray and arrange chocolate drops on top to make a pattern.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes then turn oven down to 150 C for last 5 minutes of cooking. Careful not to over cook them. They should not turn brown.

Notes

You can make any patterns on the shortbread with the chocolate chips. Dominos shapes are fun to make by cutting into rectangles and decorating with the chocolate chips. When you put the chocolate chips on top use the pointy end to press into the biscuit to hold it in place so the flat side is facing up.

  • Makes me want to make dominos out of them hehe
