This beef casserole is a great winter warmer.


Ingredients (serves 6)

  • 1 kg Oyster blade, diced
  • 4 Onions, diced
  • 8 Tomatoes, diced
  • 4 Potatoes, diced
  • 2 Tbsp Cumin
  • 4 Tbsp Oregano

Method

  1. Heat oil in fry pan, add beef and cook on high for a couple minutes to brown and seal in juices. Set aside.
  2. Cook potatoes and set aside.
  3. Add tomatoes, onions and herbs to the pot and simmer for half an hour to reduce.
  4. Add beef and potatoes to the pot and simmer for 3 hours.

  • Wow such a simple recipe. I always make a stew or casserole in winter but always make it too watery so I put some cornflour in it to thicken it a bit. I always use gravy beef ( and it is not expensive ) , so didn’t know there is an Oyster Blade . Thank you
