A twist on traditional baked apples

Ingredients (serves 2)

  • 2 Granny Smith apples
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Method

  1. Preheat Airfryer to 160 degrees. Scoop out core of apples, leaving a pocket for the crumble mix.
  2. In a bowl, mix together oats, sugar and spices. Add softened butter and mix until combined.
  3. Divide crumble mix between the apples.
  4. Place stuffed apples into Airfryer basket. Cook for 15 minutes, until apples are soft and crumble is golden.

Notes

Can be cooked in a regular oven. Delicious served with icecream and/or caramel sauce

  • oh, I have 2 apples sitting in my fruit bowl and crumbs from last bit of muesli to be used – this sounds like it will work for this recipe.

  • These remind me of the baked apples that my Nanna used to make, and they were absolutely delicious. She used to put a little bit of mixed dried fruit in with the oats stuffing, and served them with custard and ice-cream. Very very nice dessert in Winter.
