Perfect for making Mexican family favourites, McCormick Flavour Shots Chilli Con Carne incorporates a fantastic blend of herbs, spices and seasonings infused in sunflower oil. Give the recipe a try today!

Serves 4   |   Cooks in 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 McCormick McCormick Chilli Con Carne Flavour Shot
  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 red capsicum, diced
  • 1 x 400g can diced tomatoes
  • 1 x 140g tomato paste
  • 1 x 400g can red kidney beans, drained

Method

  1. Stir contents of Flavour shot, then spoon into a large pre-heated frying pan with the mince, onion and capsicum, stir to coat and cook on medium heat for 10 minutes
  2. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste and red kidney beans. Simmer on medium heat for a further 20 minutes
  3. Season to taste and serve. Delicious served with guacamole and sour cream.

Hints & Tips

  • Makes a great taco or burrito filling
  • Try with diced meat as an alternative to mince. Cooking times will change for this method.
  • Like your Chilli Con Carne with an extra kick? Try stirring in a pinch of dry Chilli Flakes before serving.

  • I tried this but also added some finely diced carrot and celery to the mix, as a way to sneak extra vegies in. And I used pork mince and some extra chilli. We love our Chilli over noodles or rice, but this time I served it with Mashed potato, and it was sooooo nice.

McCormick Flavour Shots – Chilli Con Carne. A little shot full of flavour!


Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 500g Mince
  • 1 McCormick Flavour Shot - Chilli Con Carne
  • 1 tin Tomatoes
  • 1 Onion
  • 100g Baby Spinach Leaves
  • 1 Tin red kidney beans
  • 4 Large tomatoes
  • 2 Large Zucchini

Method

  1. Add olive oil to a pan, once heated, add 1 large onion and brown.
  2. Add 500g of mince, brown, stirring constantly to cook evenly.
  3. Add the baby spinach, zucchini, tomatoes, tin tomatoes to the pan, stir.
  4. Add the McCormick Flavour Shot - Chilli Con Carne and red kidney beans. Mix and leave until cooked.

Notes

Being a busy full time working mum of 2 toddlers, the McCormick Flavour Shots are a quick and easy addition to complete a family dinner. The Chilli Con Carne flavour shot was packed full of so much flavour that it was easy to add some baby spinach and zucchini, without the kids knowing how much goodness was actually in their meal.
