I wanted a recipe that didn’t use salt and found this spice mixture to be lovely !

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 3 stems fresh Kale
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp tumeric
  • 0.5 tsp hot paprika
  • 0.5 tsp olive oil spray

Method

  1. Remove the kale leaves from the stem and break into small pieces, wash and ensure they are thoroughly dry before spraying with olive oil.
  2. Mix the spices together in a bowl and coat the oiled kale leaves with the rub.
  3. Spread the coated kale leaves on a baking dish and heat in pre-warmed oven at 165C for 15-20 minutes, or until kale is crisp.

  • Ooh that sounds like a tasty mix

  • I have tried making these so many times, but they always come out very dry and tasteless. Now I know what spices to add. Thanks.

  • A great recipe. You certainly would want to have salt at all. It has plenty of spice to give it plenty of flavour.
