A healthy salad or side to any dish

Ingredients (serves 2)

  • 1-2 bunch Asparagus
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1/2 A lemon juice

Method

  1. Rinse the asparagus with cold water. It is a good idea to snap the bottom of the asparagus where it easily snaps. (We dont need the woody parts) Cut the asparagus in half. Steam the asparagus until crisp and tender for about 5-6 minutes
  2. Drizzle with lemon and olive oil
  3. Season with salt and serve

Notes

Best to pick asparagus uniform in size for evenness of cooking

  • By steaming the asparagus you don’t lose the nourishment and colour into the water as you would if you boiled them.
