After welcoming little baby Elio last month Em Rusciano has been keeping it real about life as a busy mum.

Sharing with nearly 280,000 Facebook fans Em wrote:

“It’s amazing how quickly your standards drop a few weeks after giving birth. First week I had lovely freshly washed sterile bamboo reusable breast pads to use when my other boob started leaking during a feed in the middle of the night.. Last night I used a sock. I dunno if if was clean, and quite frankly I don’t care.”

The responses to her post were brilliant! Mums are thanking Em for keeping it real and relatable to all mums.

One mum shared, “I think you’ve just solved the one sock problem of the world! Got a random sock, but can’t find the other one? No dramas, give it to a breast feeding Mumma #boobsock #nomoreleaks #copywrite”

“Feeding 4th baby now (9 weeks old). Standards have gone waaaay down very early on. This week I’ve used a tea towel and a dirty school shirt I found on the lounge.”

“Haha I’ve been there “quick grab me a boob Rag” child “but that’s my undies”

The best comment goes to – “I didn’t know I could frantically shove a spare nappy down the front of my pants on a main CBD street in peak hour traffic while the first period after my baby’s birth came on WITH A VENGEANCE! All whilst holding the pram and a dachshund puppy that shows no mercy in public places.” Winner!

  • Its the most amazing and yet exhausting time but would we trade it? Hell no. Our little bubs are so worth it.

  • Love it! The poor mum with the period in the city, she was smart to use a nappy.

  • The early days of being are mum are exhausting!

  • It’s real – we do what we have to do and bub needs feeding. Who knows, probably by grabbing whatever is to hand will stop all the allergy symptoms later by building up bubs immune system – just a thought

  • More please. Sharing the real instead of the curated is so much more relatable. It shows we’re all in this together.

  • Let’s face it, she is not exactly a young Mum. Her previous pregnancy didn’t go as planned either.
Em is certainly “down to earth” and tells it as it is.

  • she is such a great voice of the Aussie woman – tough yet loveable, honest and hilarious, – these would be just some of the reasons why we all get her and she gets us!
