Steve Backshall and wife Helen Glover last month announced that they were set for the biggest adventure of their lives. This week they made a very different announcement.

Deadly 60 presenter Steve Backshall was excited to be expecting twins with his wife Helen Glover.

Steve, 44, and Helen, 31, took to social media to announce the happy news.

The pair, who married in 2016, shared their baby news with the same two photos – one of Helen on a boat showing a baby bump and one of Steve with two baby ducks.

This week the couple have shared how they sadly lost one of the twins.

Helen confirmed the loss of one of the twins on Twitter: “Thanks for all your lovely messages. We’ve had the hard news that one baby hasn’t made it but we are very excited and hopeful for the remaining baby to arrive this summer xx”

Steve added: “We’ve had the hard news that one baby hasn’t made it but we are very excited and hopeful for the remaining baby to arrive this summer xx”
