Sarah Harris shared a rather embarrassing situation with her young son over the weekend, involving a confessional booth and the fire brigade.

Sharing her story on Studio Ten the mum-of-two told how her partner their son Paul to Sunday mass.

Sarah didn’t attend the church service, saying, “I was having some me time at home … which is code for ‘doing the washing’.”

Somehow little Paul managed to lock himself in the confessional booth.

“He’s so naughty … he runs around this church like a little psychopath and he locked himself in the confessional booth for about 10 minutes,” she explained.

“They had to call emergency services to break the door down”.

Have you had a similar experience at all?

  • Hopefully the Mass service wasn’t in progress. I wonder how old Paul is. Sounds like they need to hold his hand and not let go. Better still sit at the end of an aisle and keep him strapped in a stroller.

  • I’m sure he loved the firemen rescuing him.

  • Aw bless, very funny ! I can imagine the son got frightened though.
Don’t see how this is a parenting fail as the title suggests ?

  • That’s funny, but I’m surprised they couldn’t unlock it from outside.

  • Hehe, I think this is funny, although I must admit I do get annoyed when children are noisy during church services and their parents don’t take them outside.
