Spring is in the air and the layers are rolling off!  Are you ready to jump into your summer clothes and feel confident in your own skin?

It’s time to step out of those winter woolies and bring your mind & body out of hibernation!

We have created 6 simple steps for you to effortlessly shed that winter layer and clear your mind for the seasons heating up ahead.

GET MOVING

Even if you just start out with 15 minutes a day.  15 minutes is better than nothing and your body will love you for it.  Forget the excuses and start now!

Take baby steps so you know you can stick to what you promised yourself

 HYDRATION

With the warmer months creeping in at a super fast rate it’s definitely time to focus on keeping your body fueled with the water you need.

When you drink 2-3L of water a day it helps cleanse your system by removing all those nasty toxins hanging around in your body with great benefits including improved energy and digestion; How could you feel anything but refreshed?!

JOURNALING & MEDITATION

Do you feel your mind can never calm?  A great way to spring clean your mind is to get it all out by writing it down.  It doesn’t have to make sense, just get it out on paper until you feel your head is empty of the racing thoughts and then turn it around into positive thoughts.

Write down the things you are grateful for daily.  Start with just 3 and work your way up to 10.

Meditation doesn’t have to be a whole heap of “uuummmming”, it can be as simple as taking 5 minutes to go outside and put your feet on the ground and focus only on the energy from the earth.  Make it simple.  Make it attainable.

 FUEL YOUR BODY WITH WHOLEFOODS

Whole foods are foods that have not been processed or refined.  They typically are less in calories with more nutrients than processed foods.  Spring is a great time to start experimenting with yummy salads and new fruits for the season….the possibilities are endless!

 RECHARGE YOUR OWN BATTERIES

Schedule in some “me” time every day and take away the restlessness that comes with the arrival of Spring.

Want to go for a nap?

Do it!

Want to dance in the lounge room?

Do it!

Research has shown that when you take just 5 minutes to re-charge, you are more focused and ready to attack the next task for the day.

Do you think these steps will help you be more mindful this Spring? And How do you stay mindful as a busy Mum?

  • This might seem odd, but coffee actually relaxes me and whenever I start to feel stressed I have a coffee and I feel better.

  • I write things down too. I feel more in control of my life this way, without putting too much pressure on my mind trying to remember things that are not really important.

And I keep a diary of what’s happening in my daughter’s life. I write in there at least once a week. I started while I was pregnant. And I am still doing it now that my daughter is 15 years old. :-)

  • I’m a firm believer in writing things down – having a stressful and unpredictable job means that there are always a million and one things going around in my head! Writing things down helps to expel some of those things leaving space in my mind to focus! I also try to take time out from external stimulates by having a 15 minute digital detox every day!

  • I like the journaling idea. It can be hard to wind down after a busy week.
