Hello!

It’s that time of year again. We can finally say goodbye to winter and open the windows and doors to Springtime. To welcome in the new season, it often feels fabulous to begin some redecorating projects in the kid’s bedrooms. For mum’s with a busy schedule, though, it can be hard to find the time to begin extensive interior design projects.

These quick and easy decorating ideas will inspire you to add a little touch of Spring to your kid’s bedrooms this season.

1. Change the bed covers

They don’t have to be expensive, but a splash of new colour and texture, particularly some pretty pastels for girls, in Spring can freshen up the room. Some cushions or a lovely blanket can add a really nice touch as well!

2. Paint the walls

For those mums and dads who have a little extra time on the weekend, painting a feature wall can totally change the atmosphere of a bedroom. Kids love bright, happy colours that can become the foundation for a colour scheme across the entire room.

3. Add a mirror

In higher up places where tiny toddlers can’t reach, or even fixing them securely to a wall, mirrors are a fabulous way to enhance the natural lighting in a kid’s bedroom. With the dark and cold months of winter behind us, adding a mirror in Spring will brighten up any room.

4. Display colourful frames

Whether you paint them yourself or make it during an afternoon of craft with the kids, painting some inexpensive photo frames in bright pastel colours can make for some gorgeous home decor items. You can display them on the wall, on the bedside table, on the dresser or above the kid’s bookshelf to bring some personalised character to their bedroom this spring.

 5. Introduce some nature

Whether its a cute floral canvas print or a more masculine wildlife print, adding some elements of nature can really bring Spring into the bedroom, filling it with some new life.

6. Cute patterns

Storing your toys or accessories in some quirky little storage boxes decorated with colourful patterns can help to contrast from other white or solid base furniture. These small decorations can add just the right touch of colour to liven up the room whilst also doubling as efficient storage features.

  • I LOVE Kmart. It makes it easy to achieve a new look on a budget. Particularity when kids go through their phases so quickly.

  • Really do people do this? I have enough trouble keeping up with regular house jobs like washing and cleaning and cooking – might do some spring cleaning but painting a kids room to brighten it up for spring? Seriously?? I think changing bedding is enough in most rooms.

    • haha i must admit i was thinking the same thing
Lucky if rooms get painted once every few years !

  • I hope it is Spring weather. Only a few days ago we had the coldest August night in 36 years in Adelaide. The spring flowers seem to be later this year. Some are showing no signs of flowering at all yet, some that normally flower early in August look like they are thinking about it. I think we will brightening our interior before nature takes care of the exterior areas

  • I can’t wait for Spring. It’s my favourite time of year – sunshine, not too hot, not too cold. Just love it. And a new season always lends itself, after the cold of winter, to me wanting to upgrade, decorate, or change things in the house. Can’t wait.
