My baby is turning SEVEN tomorrow! I still can’t believe that its been seven years since we had a baby in the house! How quickly does life pass us by. It’s scary to think that the past seven years have gone by so quickly, the next seven probably will as well and we will have a fourteen year old!
So, for his birthday he has asked for an iPad, a garmin watch AND some Bakugan (whatever that is!?). Who does this kid think he is, a prince? He also has opted out of a birthday party and chosen to take two of his closest friends to our local show at the end of the week – talk about expensive, should have just stuck to the party!!
Now my dilemma is, how much is too much to spend on a seven year old!?
My kids, we have two, are in no way spoiled, but sometimes i feel like i’m not giving them enough! We all know those mums at school who show off their kids all decked out in brand name clothes, smart watches, the latest toys, iPads, iPods, $1000 birthday parties and a car for their 13th birthday! You know the ones I’m talking about, the parents who always need to show you what they have bought their child and exactly how much they spent, just to make you feel like you’re not as good a parent as them. Well, you know what – I don’t want to be THAT mum!
So, help me out. How much do you spend on your kids for their birthdays? How much is too much? What did your seven year old get for their birthday?
