Hello!

I’m going to have a rant here. Unless it’s vital, I hate getting text messages or phone calls before 8 in the morning and after 9.30 at night. It drives me nuts hearing the phone go off early in the morning or late at night, especially if it’s something that could have waited. Please people, if you are going to contact me check the time!

  • I hate the early morning messages but as I am a night owl I don’t mind messages at night. It is just me at night as hubby is working so sometimes, I actually welcome the chit chat.

  • I have to agree with you definitely!

  • I have even drafted texts and then waited until an appropriate time to send; as I do not break my own curfew time! ;)

  • As I have a husband who is on shift work I don’t mind it too much for me. However, I dislike that my 13 year old son’s friends seem to think its ok to text him at all hours on the night.

  • I agree in terms of phone calls, but I don’t mind receiving a text message outside of these hours.

  • With me it depends – the rules for close friends are pretty flexible!

  • Around 9 pm I close my mobile so nobody can contact me anymore. In the morning if it’s something urgent related to school it’s no problem already at 6, otherwise better wait indeed.

  • The general rule is calls are ok after 9am in the morning and before 9pm at night. I turn off the mobile and turn on the answering service; this avoids the pings and beeps at odd hours.

  • I have taken the handset out of my bedroom, so when the fixed line phone rings in the kitchen I can’t hear it. As for calls on my mobile, the numbers I don’t recognise if they ring at odd hours I block.

  • I tend to agree unless it’s an emergency of course.
