I recently got the opportunity to undertake vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue training.
I found it really interesting learning how much an individual can take on at work from their co-workers and clients if they are dealing with highly stressful and personal situations.
It made me realise how important it was to look after myself and find ways to take time out for myself so that I didn’t get bogged down in wanting to do everything I could for my clients.
If you work in a human services, disability or community services environment it is worth doing this course if you get a chance.
