Taco Bell is finally coming to Sydney….

The Mexican fast food chain has announced that the first two Taco Bell stores will be located in Blacktown and Newcastle!

“There’s nothing like a road trip… Next stop… New South Wales!” they announced on their facebook page.

“We can’t wait to ring the bell in Western Sydney AND Newcastle. Stay tuned!”

It is expected that the new stores will open in time for summer and will offer the classic Taco Bell menu, consisting of a variety of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, a range of craft beers and delicious frozen margaritas!

Five stores have already opened up in various locations in Queensland over the past two years.

It has also been revealed that Melbourne is also getting its first taste of Taco Bell.

Taco Bell technically first opened a store in Sydney in 1981, but after a dispute with an existing restaurant of the same name, the chain closed. It reopened again in 1997, but closed again a few years later.

The chain is aiming to open 50 stores across multiple states in the next three years, confirmed franchisee Collins Foods.

The locations are yet to be revealed, however current stores in South East Queensland including Robina, North Lakes and Cleveland have proven to be a success.

In 2017, the company opened its first store in Annerley, Brisbane, which attracted large crowds of taco lovers.

‘We have had an overwhelming response to the launch of Taco Bell in Brisbane, and we know that the Australian market is hungry for more,’ Taco Bell Asia Pacific’s managing director Ankush Tuli said.

Collins Foods managing director Graham Maxwell said: ‘We have seen tremendous enthusiasm for the Taco Bell brand in Australia, and this is reflected in the continued strong performance of our Annerley restaurant.’

‘We believe in the significant growth potential of Taco Bell, and are pleased to have the strong confidence of Yum! Brands to grow Taco Bell’s presence across Queensland and into other markets.’
