Target Issue Food Safety Recall for popular candy canes.

Target have shared a recall stating, “At Target Australia, the safety of our customers is our highest priority. This is why we’ve decided to conduct a voluntary recall of The Fabulous Food Company Candy Cane 40g with a best before date of August 2019 due to a safety issue.

This item was available for purchase between 16 September 2018 and 17 January 2019.

Customers should not consume this product and return it to a Target or Target Country store as soon as possible, with or without a receipt, where our team members will provide them with a full refund.”

The recall is due to the potential presence of plastic in the candy.

They are advising customers not to consume the product but return for a full refund.

  • Considering the price of fuel it’s probably cheaper to bin them rather than take them back.

  • We were given some recently. I just threw them out when we got home. Won’t be taking any risks.

  • Bit late. Every kid at end of school was handing them out. Not sure if they were all target ones though.

  • I hate hearing about recalls… so scary.

  • I wish Target would stop selling this cheap imported junk and get back to what they are good at, homewares and clothes.

  • Late recalls are not ok, but better then no recall.

  • Feels a bit late to recall

  • I’m not sure they would be too many left around .. but go your hardest target !

  • I would assume that most of them have been eaten and are long gone now! Oops!!

  • One would hoped they had found out earlier about the plastic in the cane. Lucky we do not buy them but instead make them ourselves.

  • A bit late for this recall!

  • It’s probably too late now. Most kids would have eaten theirs already.

  • Thanks for the recallalot of people would have bought them for Christmas!

  • These were on a huge special just after Christmas so I’d think people would mostly just toss them…. not worth the $1(or less) rebate (for multiple canes) to go to the trouble of taking them back.
