Target have issued a recall for kids SmarTrike over safety fears.

In a statement Target have said, “At Target Australia, the safety of our customers is our highest priority. We are committed to providing products that are safe and Target takes its safety obligations very seriously.

“The ACCC recently conducted an investigation into tricycles sold by a number of retailers including Target and has concluded that some SmarTrike tricycle models have attributes of strollers and do not comply with the Mandatory Safety Standard for strollers.

“Target ceased selling those products when the investigation began in mid-2018 and is now recalling them, together with some other tricycle models.

“Customers who purchased one of the pictured products believing that it was a stroller can return it to a Target or Target Country store, with or without a receipt, where our team members will provide you with a full refund.

  • It amazes me some people think trikes are strollers.

  • We purchased one of these a year ago, and never were we under the impression that they were a stroller. I am fully aware it doesnt have breaks, but we just hold onto it continually. I love ours and I wont be taking it back
