Teacher offers to donate her kidney to a pupil she has never even met.

The Ohio teacher promised to donate her kidney to a 10-year-old pupil at her school even though they had never met before.

Tanya Thomas, a fourth-grade teacher at Slate Ridge Elementary School, heroically volunteered her organ when she learned of Eva Evans’s plight on Facebook.

A family friend had posted a message asking for potential donors to come forward, shares Daily Mail.

Ms Thomas courageously began undergoing tests to see if she could give her kidney to Eva – and learned she was a match.

But Eva’s family didn’t realise the selfless donor worked at their little girl’s school until Ms Thomas introduced herself one day at Slate Ridge Elementary.

Eva suffers from an incredibly rare disease – collapsing focal segmental glomerulosclerosis – which left her with just four per cent kidney function.

She has been on dialysis since August last year and takes up to 30 pills a day. And finding her a new kidney has been an uphill struggle.

But on May 30 she will have the transplant operation if she is strong enough, as heroic Ms Thomas goes under the knife to help save her life.

‘I just felt like if I’m blessed with this good health we need to just take that step,’ said Ms Thomas.

The teacher says she and Eva will be ‘transplant sisters’ after the operation and the youngster has ‘a long life ahead of her’.

We wish both little Eva and Ms Thomas all the best x
