Hello!

Well actually two days after Xmas it was like the Easter bunny was just was around the corner!  Our local Woolworths had already started to stock Hot Cross Buns and Cadbury Creme eggs!

We were not given much time to get over the gluttonous feeling of eating chicken, turkey, prawns and trifle on Christmas Day when we were confronted with shelves of chocolate bunnies and copious amounts of Easter eggs.

Are there really people willing to buy Easter treats this early?

Are retailers hoping people buy their Easter eggs NOW and eat them before Easter so more have to be bought?

As much as I love Easter, especially now with having kids who understand the concept of the Easter Bunny, I think having these in your face so soon is not a good idea.  For weeks every time we go shopping little hands are reaching out trying to take the colourful foil covered “balls” off the shelves.

“How many more sleeps until BUNNY???”  The kids do not believe me that the Easter Bunny is still hibernating!

And isn’t there Valentines Day or even the Back to School promotions to get through before we even make it to Easter?

Though the chocolate hot cross buns are my favourite, the main problem with introducing them so early, the way I am going, I will be soon turning in to one!

You are what you eat, as they say.

Did you start Easter egg shopping in December or do you just turn a blind eye to all the chocolate treats until March?
