We can’t wait! We’ve been waiting in anticipation to hear when Woolworths Discovery Garden will start sprouting in our stores. And now we know.

The supermarket has shared that the green-lovers campaign is due to start seeding on 11 September – that’s Wednesday this week.

Let It Grow

A Woolworths spokesperson spoke to 7NEWS.com.au saying that the promotion is a way for all Australians to grow their very own fresh food.

“Starting this week, Woolworths team members across the country will be heading to local schools in their area to drop off a Woolworths Discovery Garden kit so that the school can kickstart their growing journey,” the spokesperson said.

“Fresh food education is important to us which is why, to accompany the send out, we also developed functional educational material including curriculum-based teacher resources, an interactive growth chart and learning book, with many more tools available online following launch.

“Each Woolworths store has also received their very own Woolworths Discovery Garden kit so that our team members can also kickstart their growing journey.”

Stores Are Getting Into The Gardening Groove

There are also pictures popping up all over showing previews of the gardening displays in Woolies stores.

In photos shared to New Idea Food, one excited shopper took pics of a tray of Discovery Garden plants in their pots, with tiny shoots popping up above the soil.

“My local store had this set up, and it was so cool. So many of the plants are already sprouting, which must be pretty rare – to see them growing so fast, so quickly,” she told the publication.

Many stores are certainly getting into the gardening spirit and setting up some really imaginative displays in-store.

  • They introduce this collectable at the right time; Spring !! But I wonder if introducing a promotion so soon after the Ooshie collectables isn’t causing fatigue by the costumers and how will it affect their sales ? Time will tell.

  • so much better than little pieces of plastic, and a better way to encourage kids to learn about their food rather than playing with plastic. I do my shopping on line so I wonder if I will be able to get these with my shopping?
