With everyone gearing up and preparing for the busy season ahead it can be easy to get carried away with all the silly season festivities and forget about taking care of ourselves.

After all, if we fail to keep ourselves and most importantly our energy levels in check, how can we expect to be in our best form at all those parties and get togethers filling up our calendars?

And let’s be real, with all the ‘toxins’ we’re likely to consume over the next few weeks, it could definitely do us all a little good to try out some of the more natural ways we can boost our energy levels. Continue reading to find out our top five!

Get yourself a decent amount of sleep

It sounds obvious, but surprisingly the majority of people are not getting the correct amount of sleep. Being well rested is crucial to being able to let loose and enjoy ourselves this holiday season. We suggest to head to bed at a reasonable, and similar time each night, turn your phone off, or if you’re lacking in self-discipline, switch it to nighttime mode, and if you’re feeling really motivated, maybe even try to indulge in some meditation! A solid night’s sleep will allow you to replenish your energy levels and help you deal better with stressful situations. Also, an added bonus of getting enough sleep is that it has the ability to delay the ageing process, and really, who doesn’t want that!

Take a daily supplement of Ubiquinol

It is important to optimise your energy levels at all times of the year, let alone the busy festive period. Everybody wants to be feeling their best for all the parties and festivities filling up the diary, so why not try a supplement?! Studies have shown that Ubiquinol may assist with energy production and protect your body against oxidative stress and inflammation. Ubiquinol is the active form of Q10 (CoQ10), which is an antioxidant that is important for the functioning of mitochondria within our bodies.

Make sure to prioritise your fitness regime

Regular exercise helps to diminish your levels of stress, increase energy levels as well as improving heart health. Only 30 mins of gentle exercise every day is required, which we believe is even achievable during the busy festive season! So no excuses, get to work!

Eat Well

As tempting as it may be to indulge in all the wonderfully naughty foods this festive season, we recommend to always go for the healthier option (or at least most of the time). Just because it’s the silly season, it’s not time to be silly about what you’re eating, especially if you’re struggling with energy levels. It’s integral to focus on ‘eating the rainbow’ in order to provide your body with all the antioxidants it needs in order to improve energy levels and fight off any nasty diseases.

Don’t forget to be a little silly

After all, it is called the silly season for a reason. Let loose, visit your friends and loved ones and have a great Christmas and New Year! Tis the season to be merry so try to forget about all those stressful work emails and Christmas shopping lists and enjoy the festive period with the ones you love most!

  • I’ve never heard of ubuiquinol before. I’m not know for going overboard at any time of year. These tips will be useful for if I ever do, for those around me, if I can remember them

  • Very good points here. This time of year it is way too easy to fall off the wagon a bit and get slack with routines and also to stress too much and not get enough sleep! It’s really important to still look after yourself as if you get too run down you will just burn your self out, and no one wants their new year to start off on that note!
