Sadly a car crash has killed two young children in southeast Queensland.
A four-year-old girl and six-year-old boy died instantly when a car slammed into tree and split in two at Peaks Crossing south of Ipswich at about 2.45pm on Monday, shares 7 news.
An eight-year-old girl who was in the front passenger seat is in a stable condition in hospital.
The female driver in her 30s, who was airlifted to hospital, is in a critical but stable condition.
The forensic crash unit is investigating but police say that wet weather was likely a factor.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, or has dashcam vision to come forward.
