Jimmy Rees shared a picture of a sausage he grabbed from Bunnings  with his son Lenny which soon sent fans into a frenzy.

The Giggle and Hoot host known as Jimmy Giggle, shared a photo on Social Media with the caption, “Hit up Bunnings yesterday, what’s with the ‘cut in half sausage, double bread’ situation? Just gimme a snag in bread!”

Jimmy added in comments, “This one was for Lenny, despite the double bread problem, mine went down before I could take a pic!! Lol”

Fans were horrified with many taking aim at Bunnings for being so Un-Australian.

Comments include:

“That is sausage sizzle blasphemy. Hideous.”

“Unaustralian I believe this is”

“No! Definitely not. This is so wrong.”

“That ain’t cricket!”

“Noooo!”

“Blasphemy in the house of bunnings! This isn’t right. What you need to do is go back there buy a bbq and show them how it’s done.”

“They need to review their code of conduct for serving a monstrosity like that! Someone’s sausage serving standards are def not up to scratch.”

“This goes against the rules of sausage sizzles. Horrifying!”

So wrong guys! Would you have handed it back?

  • Unless there were good onions too, I wouldn’t eat it.

  • My daughter would’ve cared (whole v split sausage). She still would’ve eaten it :)

  • My bunnings does a bread roll, some people cut the sausage to speed up the cooking time

  • You have to remember these sausage sizzles are not put on by Bunnings. they are charities, schools, sporting teams etc that have booked in to host a sausage sizzle at Bunnings. I believe Bunnings do have some parameters around the sausage sizzle offering. I do prefer one piece of bread to my sausage but I understand that in the circumstances of having home cooks at these events and the numbers they churn out it is much more efficient to cut them in half and you are guaranteed to not have a burned or undercooked snag.

  • You need the sausage whole and one piece of bread

  • I know that I have bought from a Bunnings store before and the sausage was perfect. I also know that Bunnings only supply the equipment, not the food or the workers on the day. Definitely not what I’d call a true aussie sausage sizzle.

  • Love a good sausage served whole in bread with onion and sauce and definitely not split open.

  • I had one from there one time and it was burnt!!!!

  • They’re doubling up on bread so wasting it unnecessarily which will effect their bottom dollar. Keep it simple!!

    • One slice of bread and one sausage = perfect snag sandwich. :)

  • They would probably cook more evenly if split like that :)

  • This needs to be explained further. Was it a charity BBQ in which case I think the charity prepares the food, drinks etc OR was it one for one run as a Bunnings promotion???

  • It’s not Bunnings fault. They provide the bbq and space free of charge and charity’s bring all the food and run it. It was the charity that day who was stingy not Bunnings. Bunnings do have strict guide lines with regards to hygiene, money counting and price which is good fair and consistent however The people on the day would have made the decision to half a sausage which was a naughty thing to do.

    • I was going to say it’s not Bunnings that run the BBQ lol

Maybe the recognised him and thought it would be funny

  • It looks a bit burned too !

  • how weird haha it would have cost so much of their fundraising profits for that. Maybe it was the end of the day and they didn’t want to take the leftovers home
