Hello!

A boy handed out handfuls of his father’s ecstasy pills to his school mates after thinking they were lollies.

The boy, 8, shared the pills with four of his friends, all aged between 7 and 9 years, in an elementary school in the Indonesian province of Riau, as reported in the Daily Mail.

The ecstasy pills allegedly belonged to the boys 46-year old father.

Bitter Taste

Police have said the boys 2-year-old brother had found the pill collection in the car and had handed it over to his elder brother. The toddler wasn’t that keen on the lollies and found them to be too bitter to eat.

‘The kids thought the green pills in their parents’ car were candy. They cut up the pills and shared them with friends,’ Riau Police Public Relations Head Kombes Sunarto told the media according to Detik News.

The boy and his school friends were taken to hospital after complaining of headaches and dizziness.

‘They are feeling better now. They have received treatment,’ said Sunarto.

The father confessed he owned the ecstasy and was subsequently arrested. There are no details as to whether he will face charges.

Parents, beware, keep your medication well away from the kids!

  • OMG….why the hell would he leave things like this within a childs reach and what were the kids doing in the car unattended anyway?

  • All pills should be kept out of the reach of small children – especially these pills. Hope he got a very hefty fine if not some gaol time for this.

  • Oh no, they would only needed to swallow a couple of these to be in serious trouble health wise. So lucky they didn’t have handfuls of them

  • Surely a prison sentence there??

  • How reckless can he be. If he wants to poison his body with drugs that’s his problem but leaving them where young kids can find them is just dangerous. Luckily the boys are okay. I hope he gets charged and learns from his mistakes. Such a thoughtless idiot

  • This father shouldn’t be allowed to have children- and to have them in such easy reach is just disgraceful!

  • Geez it’s a good thing this kid was not greedy, it could have ended very badly.

  • just keep all drugs, legal or not, well out of reach of children. The parents should be locked up for having them in their possession

  • Wow, thank God the kids are all okay. This could have ended very badly.

  • The father was probably selling them if he left them in his car. Hopefully he will be charged and put in gaol. He would be if it happened in Aust.

We’ve to keep our medication / drugs away from kids indeed. That makes me think about an incident last week at our house. My 8yr old foster daughter has a Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), one of the symptoms is compulsive stealing & lying. In one of her hunts for foods and interesting things to steal, she climbed a chair, then counter and took a full bottle of Panadol last week. I was so relieved to find it out in time, when she only had drunken one sip of the bottle, but planned to drink the whole bottle in the night as if it was a smoothie !! I might have not been able to wake her up. Now we have it in a locked cupboard.
